H.B. Fuller Roof Primers
Superior Surface Preparation for Maximum Adhesion
In flat and low-slope roofing systems, primers play a crucial role in surface preparation, adhesion enhancement, and long-term durability. Primers are applied before installing waterproofing membranes, adhesives, or coatings to ensure a strong bond between the substrate and subsequent roofing layers.
With decades of experience supplying the roofing market, we have developed a wide range of primers and surface treatments. Using the appropriate primer is vital to maximize the longevity of the roof. Our primers come in a variety of different forms; each has been created to suit the specific waterproofing system your contractor is using.
Single Ply & Bitumen Membrane System Primers
Our products include high-performance primers, suitable for AVCLs (Air and Vapor Control Layers), self-adhered membranes, and torch-on systems. Our range also includes an all-purpose water-based primer for use as a film former to enhance adhesion, as well as primers developed specifically for use with our EPDM and TPO tape seaming, flashing, and repair systems.
Various application systems available, including brush/roll/scrub-applied and spray-applied products.
Roof Coating & LAM Primers
We offer a wide range of roof coating primers, developed for successful liquid waterproofing projects. Each primer has been formulated for a specific application/substrate, from overlaying asphalt, felt, metal, and various single-ply membranes, to reactivating existing PU liquid applied membranes layers once the standard over-coating window has expired.
Structural Waterproofing Primer
Our structural waterproofing primer is a synthetic rubber-based high-penetration primer, developed specifically to ensure great adhesion between bitumen hot-melt waterproofing and concrete. It has specific properties to ensure adequate penetration into concrete, as well as to provide the required film properties to give sufficient adhesion.
Surface Treatment
Our surface treatment is used when bonding to difficult substrates such as plastic films, smooth APP modified bitumen membranes, very fresh non-oxidized (glossy surfaced) asphalt, or coal tar. It works as an interface between the difficult substrate and the adhesive or sealant to provide an exceptional bond. Products can be spray, brush, or roller applied.
